Simply put, Aerobic Fitness means a level of physical exertion that prompts your body to produce additional oxygen , then providing it to your muscles. The additional oxygen is what lets your muscles work harder and longer.

People who are overweight and unfit will find that even small daily tasks such as bending over to pick something up or using a vaccum cleaner will wear them out quickly.

If you increase your aerobic fitness , you will be able to do all of the activities which may have left you short of breath before with no problems, in addition to doing many other things you couldn't previously do.

The one and only method to bring up aerobic fitness levels is through aerobic exercise. While some people may shy away from these words, thinking this type of exercise is difficult or painful, that is far from the truth! In fact, you can easily improve your aerobic fitness level by just walking. You can actually walk your way towards a younger appearance!

To get aerobic benefits from you walking, be sure to walk fast enough to raise your pulse rate and make it a little harder to breathe. You should be able to carry on a conversation, but not quite able to sing a solo.

Many people enjoy listening to music during exercise, since the music provides a distraction and keeps them moving to the sound. Some other people like to walk with friends, and find that having walking buddies helps provide the motivation to actually stick to the pre-arranged walking times.

If you are a person who really enjoys walking but is struggling with motivation, you might benefit from using a pedometer. A pedometer will keep up with each step you make, and you can make this into a fun game as you challenge yourself to get in more steps each day.

Some people don't enjoy aerobic fitness exercises, but they know aerobic fitness adds years to their lives. These people like to zone out when they work out by reading magazines, listening to audio books, or watching television programs while they run on a treadmill or work the elliptical.
