A Guide on How to Buy Used Treadmills

By Kathie Lie

It is common to see advertisements everywhere for used treadmills for sale. You can shop them where used goods are sold namely garage sales, flea markets etc.

Are you thinking about buying used treadmills? Do you know what to look for or whets a good deal? The most important thing is that you research what you want and what you are looking for. People often waste money by buying a treadmill that is completely unsuitable for them. Well here is a guide to help you make sure that you get a decent treadmill at a good price.

Treadmill buying guide:

1. Enquire as to who is the manufacturer of the treadmill and find out the model number.

Once you get this information, search the net to get more details about the manufacturer and read the features of the treadmill for that particular model number provided on the manufacturer's website. Also read the User Reviews to know others opinion who have tried it earlier. By doing this research, you will get to know how good it is and whether to go for it or not.

2. If you happen to be at a garage sale to buy one, ask the seller about the age of the treadmill and the source from which he had purchased it. Check if they can provide you the Owner's Manual.

You should ask them:

* How long and how often has the treadmill been used?

* Have they had any problems since buying it?

You should always try out the treadmill before you buy so you know that it is in working order.

Now that you have all of the information that you need and you have decided that you want the treadmill, you now have to see if it's a good deal. Some new treadmills can go for as much as $5000 but used treadmills often go for a third of the new price. Commercial treadmills are a particularly good investment as they are designed to be used 24 hours a day 7 days a week so are extremely sturdy.

There are the few sellers who try to make a profit from their used treadmills. You can be sure that these are not good deals and are not good value for money. If they can pick them up at a discount price then so can you!

You can also find refurbished treadmills and they are a good deal. Though they are used treadmills, the problems associated with them are already fixed, they have been inspected, replacement of parts has been done and those are good as new.

The most important thing when buying used treadmills is that you do your research. Without it you are likely to fall into all sorts of traps and cons that may be out there. Why not save yourself a fortune and do your research!
