Not knowing what type of a trader you are can make or break your trading career. Determining your trading style is very important right from the beginning.
In general there are three type of trading styles: Position trading, swing trading and day trading. Investing in the currency markets or stock markets is also the same. It depends on your personality makeup what type of trading is best suited to you. You need to know what type of trading style is for you.
For example, you expect the USD to strengthen against GBP in the coming six months. You buy currency call options on USD and currency put options on GBP. In currency trading, position trading means you are in a trade for many months trying to capitalize on a major long term move in the currency market. Options traders can also be position traders through covered calls and other options trading strategies. Position Trading is generally the buy and hold strategy employed by most people of investing in stocks over a long haul. Usually positions traders are in a trade for a large long term move like when you carry trade AUD/JPY.
Swing trading is possibly the most dynamic of the three types of trading as the swing trader is able to switch up holding times quickly as the market demands. Great Places to Ride Your Bike in Arkansas
Arkansas, you might not know, has some excellent biking trails for riders of every skill level. Arkansas has the Mississippi River, Buffalo River, Ouachita Mountains and the Ozarks, all of which provide incredible biking opportunities. Below are a few of my favorites, I hope you get the chance to enjoy them too.
Huckleberry Mountain Horse is a 40-mile loop near Paris, Arkansas. It is a great ride with some really fast descents, but always be on the lookout for other riders. This trail can get a little crowded as it is also shared with hikers and equestrians as well. There are campsites nearby if you simply cant get enough. Make sure you get a good map of the area because not all trails and logging roads in the area are well-marked.
The Twin Turtles Trails near Fayetville, Arkansas are perfect for beginner and intermediate bikers. They are well groomed, with ramps that will get you some air. The trails are only 7 miles but you can ride them all day, it never feels repetitive. This place can, however, get really buggy, especially in the summer. Bring your glasses and goggles and have a great time.
If you like to get down and dirty, then White River Refuge in Clarendon is the trail for you! Logging roads have been turned into 10 miles of ATV trails. After a good rain, there is mud and sand to turn any trail into a challenge. The trails arent too crowded and are well-marked. Watch out for snakes in this area (cottonmouth and rattlesnakes in particular).
Lake Leatherwood near Eureka Springs has 20 miles of trails with 11 different trails for experienced riders. Expect some very steep ascents with challenging downhill sections full of switchbacks, roots, steps, and rocks. These trails can get very treacherous when wet, so avoid muddy areas. You never know what might be underneath! There is a variety of terrain and some fantastic scenery to keep your attention.
Little Rock, Arkansas has the Camp Joseph Robinson Trails. You need a CARP membership to ride hear because the trails are on a military base but it is worth the ten bucks. The membership is good for a year and the riding is absolutely excellent. These trails are groomed and well maintained, but watch out for the rocky climbs and fast downhills.
For the biker who just cant get enough, theres Heaven and Hell, near Crystal Springs. I think the name says it all! This 9-mile trail requires a great deal of stamina. There are extremely long climbs and you have to be cautious on the downhill sections because of all the rocks. You will want to bring hiking boots and GOBS of water (this area can get pretty hot in the summer)! Watch out for copperheads in this area as well. Your reward after conquering this one is to take a dip in a great little swimming hole down Crystal Springs Road. There is camping available there as well.
You probably don't know that Arkansas has fifty two state parks and three national forests. These area provide ample opportunity for bikers of all skill levels. Even if you never thought you would ever go the Arkansas, I recommend checking it out. You will not be disappointed.
Huckleberry Mountain Horse is a 40-mile loop near Paris, Arkansas. It is a great ride with some really fast descents, but always be on the lookout for other riders. This trail can get a little crowded as it is also shared with hikers and equestrians as well. There are campsites nearby if you simply cant get enough. Make sure you get a good map of the area because not all trails and logging roads in the area are well-marked.
The Twin Turtles Trails near Fayetville, Arkansas are perfect for beginner and intermediate bikers. They are well groomed, with ramps that will get you some air. The trails are only 7 miles but you can ride them all day, it never feels repetitive. This place can, however, get really buggy, especially in the summer. Bring your glasses and goggles and have a great time.

One of the greatest players to ever walk onto the court, "Magic" Johnson was born Earvin Johnson in Lansing, MI in 1959. Born into a large family of a GM worker, a school custodian and nine other children, Johnson discovered basketball early. Johnson has said that he used to walk to the store dribbling with one hand and dribbling with the other as he walked back.
It was while still in high school that Johnson acquired his famous nickname. A sportswriter covering a high school game felt that no other word could adequately describe Johnson's skill with the ball. Johnson wanted to stay near his family after high school, so he attended Michigan State also in East Lansing. Even on the Michigan State Spartans, he achieved some notoriety, with scores of up to 17 in a single game. With Johnson, the Spartans took a Big Ten conference title and racked up a 25-5 record! In his second year on the team, the Spartans took on Indiana State (then featuring Larry Bird) to won the national title in what was one of the most highly followed NCAA games of all time.
Johnson made the decision to go professional and entered into the 1979 draft. Johnson was quickly drafted by the LA Lakers. LA fans were eager to see this famed college player wear the Lakers uniform and he didn't disappoint them. While the NBA's Rookie if the year award went to Larry Bird that year, Magic Johnson did help the Lakers to win the NBA championship in his first season, achieving an impressive 60-22 record. The Lakers were unstoppable the next season as well, with Johnson becoming the first rookie to start in an All Star game since the late sixties.
As fans and sportswriters everywhere will tell you, in 1980, the NBA finals that featured the Lakers and Philly's 76ers showed a legend in the making when Johnson performance clinched the win in the sixth game of the series. In that game, he scored 42 points, 15, boards, 7 assists, and 3 steals. Again, he was the first and only rookie to ever win the Finals MVP Award. As Magic put it, "I just wanted to do whatever the (Lakers) needed to do to win. I was having fun." The following year, pro sports hit Johnson, when he missed 45 games with a torn knee cartilage.
Upon his recovery, the Lakers lost no time in regaining their glory, destroying all opposition to take the division title and once again defeated Philadelphia in the NBA finals; and Johnson won his second NBA finals MVP award.
In 1984, Johnson signed a $25 million contract with the Lakers. It was a good investment for the team, which captured three of the next four NBA titles. Johnson would also score a stunning 38 points in a game against Houston and an even more incredible 46 in a match-up with Sacramento in the 1986-1987 season. Does The NHL Still Matter?
Hockey was once one of the four major American sports. The big four were the National Football League, Major League Baseball, the National Basketball Association and the National Hockey League. But yet, even as some in those group dominate the others (the NFL dominates all sports in terms of popularity), the NHL has not been able to really keep up with the others.
In fact, hockey is not truly considered to be in that big four grouping any longer. Of course, a more accurate description of the sports climate might show that NASCAR and MMA have joined the NFL, NBA and MLB in that top tier. Hockey however is on the outside looking in, no longer enjoying the popularity it once did.
How did this happen to the NHL? Was it the entire season that was lost to the lockout that did this? No, that wasn't the reason, that lost year to the lockout was actually a symptom of the problem itself. The lockout was held because salaries were getting out of control and many franchises, outside of the most popular ones such as the New York Rangers and Detroit Red Wings, simply could not afford to keep paying as much to their players as they were.
As any fan who lives in a city with a NHL franchise knows, declining ticket sales aren't the cause of NHL franchises' slumping revenues; games continue to be well attended and eagerly looked forward to. The reason for the lower revenue has to do with broadcast rights, a significant source of income for the NHL. Hockey is simply less popular as a televised sport than it once was.
The lockout however certainly didn't help the situation. When hockey returned the next season they made a deal with the network known as OLN - now Versus - to broadcast their weekly national games. However that cable station reaches only a small fraction of the homes that the major networks reach. This means that hockey simply isn't viewable by a great deal of the population, leaving it in a spot where it can hardly increase its popularity.
Adding to this problem is the fact that hockey isn't the most captivating sport to watch on television. It is a fantastic sport to take in live. This helps explain why the sport is so popular in major metropolitan areas where there is a hockey team. These fans get to go to the games and take in the rabid culture. You can hear the turns and stops of the skating, you can feel the jarring checks as players hit the ice and fall into the boards. The speed and precise nature of the game comes out in a way that it simply cannot on television. Those people who never see a game in person therefore, may not even know what they are missing out on by not being a hockey fan.
Therefore the answer to the question is that no, hockey is no longer one of the major sports in this country. It has lost it's place in that upper echelon, and is struggling for a strategy to get back. It needs to find a way to make its television games more exciting, while also getting those games aired in a spot where more people can view them.
