Introduction To Inline Off-Road Boards

By Baxter Wells

Inline boards have two wheels. This sets them apart right away from traditional 4 wheeled skateboards. There are many different kinds of inline boards, but they are significantly less popular than skateboards. Even less known about are all terrain inline boards, which are what this article is about.

The Dirtsurfer and the Surfari are two inline all terrain boards that can be used on and off road. They both are similar to one another in that they both only have two wheels, but yet they still have a slightly different ride because of the differences in their design.

What are some of the qualities of an off road inline board like the Surfari and the Dirtsurfer? First off, they are both exceptional at going fast. Inline boards like the ones I have mentioned offer a much more stable ride when compared to traditional four wheeled skateboards and longboards.

They absolutely do not get speed wobble. Speed wobble occurs on most four wheeled boards because of the design. Inline boards like the Dirtsurfer and the Surfari actually get more stable at higher speeds.

The big wheels on these boards are great for tackling all sorts of terrains. They can easily handle the occasional bump, stick, or gravel. What would normally send a skateboarder flying is easy to roll over on the big wheels the Dirtsurfer and Surfari have.

Inline boards restricted to pavement are limited to one terrain. The beauty of off road inline boards is that they can be used both on and off the road. They are not just limited to one terrain. You can bomb down long roads or you can tackle a giant grass hill, a dirt trail or whatever you think you can handle.

If you want a challenge and a lot of different options on where you can ride, an off road inline board might be just what you are wanting. I suggest you take a look at the Surfari and the Dirtsurfer as they both are great inline all terrain boards that are great at going fast, and going on and off the road.
